How it Works gets new ‘supersite’
The popular How It Works website has undergone a major design overhaul, presenting visitors with a wealth of amazing science and technology facts
Imagine Publishing is pleased to announce the launch of the all-new HowItWorksDaily.com website, featuring a completely refreshed jQuery architecture and user-friendly approach to exciting content that makes science cool. This fresh and fun interface enables visitors to browse a wealth of mind-blowing facts in an instant.
How It Works’ web developer, Andy Leon, said: “There’s something for everyone in HowItWorksdaily.com, so we’ve focused on making it easier for everyone to find content that interests them. The continuous-loading homepage means that it’s near-impossible to run out of fascinating articles to browse. These are also now more engaging, with interactive illustrations that take the reader inside some of the awesome technology. Plus, sharing with friends is now effortless, with social networks and aggregator sites available on-the-page.”
Among the exciting array of new features incorporated into the new site structure are the ‘More Like This…’ option and the ‘Random Pick’ style of presentation. Such innovations will introduce visitors to a range of topics they may not otherwise have clicked on.
Editor, Helen Laidlaw, said: “This exciting open landscape breathes new life into the way people can discover and enjoy science-based knowledge. We hope that the welcoming layout encourages visitors to surf our vast bank of expert information and discover something new every day. The team has already lost hours exploring the new site, and we hope our visitors will enjoy the fresh accessible approach. This is set to be the ultimate brain-feeding timesink.”
The How It Works story started with the launch of the massively successful print magazine in 2009 which kick-started a global brand that now includes bookazines, eBooks and iPhone/iPad apps – all dedicated to feeding knowledge-hungry minds with amazing information about the world around us.
Imagine Publishing is one of the UK’s fastest-growing multimedia content producers. Formed in May 2005, Imagine now publishes 20 regular print magazines, 30 digital apps, 25 websites and thousands of articles every month in the technology, videogames, photography and knowledge/science markets.
