Digital Photographer of the Year Awards 09 venue announced
The Digital Photographer of the Year Awards announces exclusive winners’ exhibition in the New Forest.
Imagine Publishing has teamed up with The New Forest Centre Museum and gallery to offer DPOTY ’09 Award winners an exclusive prize: their images showcased in an exhibition.
Commenting on the development, Debbi Allen, Editor in Chief of the photography titles, said: “The Digital Photographer of the Year Awards aims to showcase the talents of up-and-coming photographers, and what they want more than anything else is to see their work displayed to the public. The awards offer photographers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I look forward to working with The New Forest Centre to ensure a great launch night, and successful exhibition after.”
Hilary Marshall, Manager of The New Forest Centre, added: “The New Forest Centre is very excited to be working with Digital Photographer to showcase and promote the talents of emerging photographers. The Centre aims to get more photographers printing and displaying their work with pride.”
The exhibition will launch on 15 January 2010, with an exclusive event for the winners, and will be followed by a three-week exhibition where the public will be able to view the images. The award-winning photos will be printed by Canon, as the industry-leading manufacturer moves to support the awards.
As well as the chance to be exhibited, entrants also stand to win a host of valuable prizes, including a Canon EOS 500D and professional photographic courses, courtesy of the experts at Park Cameras.
Now in its third year, the Digital Photographer of the Year Awards is open for entries until 5 November 2009, with winners being announced in Digital Photographer issue 92, on sale January 2010.
