High Definition Review makes HD consumers stand still on 9 April

High Definition Review #18 to have holographic The Day The Earth Stood Still cover

To commemorate the arrival of The Day The Earth Stood Still on Blu-ray, the UK’s only 100 per cent dedicated high-definition magazine, High Definition Review, is hitting newsstands with a special cover treatment. Featuring an image of sci-fi icon Gort, the cover will beam from the shelves boasting a holographic-patterned laminate finish on the front and back cover. On sale on 9 April, High Definition Review will be a must-have purchase for Blu-ray and high definition buyers across the UK.

Released by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, this innovative and exciting movie sees the Earth teetering on the brink of destruction as mankind faces annihilation. Featuring stunning special effects and an all-star cast, The Day The Earth Stood Still is set to be one of the most memorable Blu-ray releases to date. The special cover treatment marks the second time High Definition Review has worked with 20th Century Fox to promote a major release in such an exciting and unique way. Previously, the magazine ran six variant 007 covers to celebrate the release of the first James Bond movies on Blu-ray Disc.

“We’re delighted to be able to give our growing readership a cover as stylish and collectable as this,” commented High Definition Review Editor Keith Hennessey. “We strive to be the best magazine in the market for the high-definition consumer, and we hope this latest special edition issue further proves our commitment to quality. 20th Century Fox has been at the forefront of Blu-ray’s rapid rise in the industry, so it’s fitting that we are working together to celebrate such an important Blu-ray release.”

High Definition Review is the UK’s first entertainment magazine entirely dedicated to Blu-ray, Sky HD, BBC HD and high-def downloads as well as next-generation games consoles, the PS3 and Xbox 360. It also features an extensive hardware reviews section packed full of the latest Blu-ray players, HD TVs and home entertainment systems.

Imagine Publishing is one of the UK’s fastest-growing consumer specialist publishers. Formed in May 2005, Imagine now publishes 20 magazines and 25 websites in the videogames, computing, entertainment and photography markets. An Imagine magazine is purchased every ten seconds.
