Star Trek named greatest sci-fi show by SciFiNow
SciFiNow magazine releases definitive list of the greatest ever sci-fi television shows

The UK’s best sci-fi magazine, SciFiNow, has named Star Trek the greatest sci-fi TV show of all time. Gene Roddenbery’s inspirational classic was given the honour by the magazine as part of its 25 Greatest Sci-Fi TV Shows feature in SciFiNow issue 29, on sale 10 June.
Going up against sci-fi programmes that have helped define genre entertainment, Star Trek was awarded the top spot by the SciFiNow creative team, beating the likes of The X Files, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who.
Also featured prominently was Firefly, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Prisoner, Red Dwarf and Quantum Leap. With the list featuring shows that aired as recently as this year as well as ones that finished decades ago, SciFiNow’s 25 Greatest Sci-Fi TV Shows is a comprehensive celebration of the very best in small-screen entertainment.
“For us, it was never in doubt,” said Aaron Asadi, Editor in Chief of SciFiNow. “Star Trek isn’t just an iconic series that spawned one of the most influential sci-fi franchises of all time, it’s also still terrifically enjoyable. That’s a testament to the strength of its characters, concept and scripts. The award is fully deserved.”
