16 special Street Fighter IV covers for latest issue of games™

Imagine Publishing and Capcom team up to bring a special cover for every character to mark the exclusive first review of Street Fighter IV

On Thursday 7 August, issue 73 of games™ goes on sale across the UK and the world with 16 specially created covers featuring each of the characters appearing in Street Fighter IV. No other videogame magazine has ever produced this many covers for a single issue.

This first for the industry truly celebrates the importance of the acclaimed Street Fighter franchise. Showcasing breath-taking art by legend Daigo Ikeno, the 16 covers pay homage to the series that has defined the beat-’em-up genre. It also marks the arcade release of the outstanding Street Fighter IV – a title already receiving high praise from magazines, websites, and beat-’em-up specialists alike.

“After such a long absence, Street Fighter needed something special to remind people that the most-loved fighting game in the world is back,” commented Leo Tan, UK PR manager at Capcom. “And a record-breaking 16 covers is just that special something. We couldn’t be happier to be working with Imagine Publishing and games™ to make this happen, and look forward to working with them closely in the future on arguably our strongest line-up ever.”

As well as the exclusive first review of Street Fighter IV, games™ issue 73 includes a sixpage feature packed with Street Fighter trivia, a full game history, and even little-known tips for Street Fighter IV from Capcom insiders – a must for fans of the franchise.

“Every gamer alive has their favourite Street Fighter character,” added games™ Editor Rick Porter. “And providing these gamers with a choice of covers as vast and varied as the SF universe itself is the perfect way to pay tribute to one of the industry’s greatest influences and finest fighting titles.”

Imagine Publishing is one of the UK’s fastest growing consumer specialist publishers. Formed in May 2005, it now publishes 20 magazines and 20 websites in the videogames, computing, entertainment and photography markets. An Imagine magazine is purchased every ten seconds.
