Nintendo magazine veteran takes the helm of n•Revolution
Imagine Publishing enlists the editorial expertise of one of the
founding fathers of the greatest Nintendo magazine of all time
Imagine Publishing’s staggering growth gained further momentum this month with the news that Andy Dyer, former co-creator of Total! and ex-Future stalwart, has taken over the reins of unofficial Nintendo magazine n•Revolution.
Dyer has been playing games for decades but his publishing career began in 1990 when
he joined Commodore Format magazine. Having established his gaming credentials
reviewing ‘classic’ Commodore 64 titles he went on to become a key member of the
launch team on the hugely successful Nintendo magazine TOTAL!, a bold project that
brought unique character and editorial independence to an otherwise bland and partisan
Nintendo magazine market.
Dyer’s subsequent successes include the launches of MEGA, PlayStation Max, and the
Official PlayStation 2 Tips Magazine UK. Since leaving Future Publishing, he has worked
in a freelance capacity across a range of titles and has recently established a design
partnership specialising in print communication and contract publishing services.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Imagine Publishing, and it’s particularly satisfying that it
should be on a Nintendo title, said Andy Dyer. “Nintendo’s consoles have always played
host to the richest, most innovative gaming experiences and with the remarkable Wii
now beginning to find its feet, I think we’re entering a fascinating period in the company’s history.”
“To be able to bring such talent and experience into Imagine is a clear indication of just
how far and how fast we have been able to develop our portfolio,” commented Simon
Phillips, Editor in Chief at Imagine Publishing. “n•Revolution is one of our key videogames titles and to have such an experienced pair of hands manning it will only ensure its further success in such a highly competitive market.”
Imagine Publishing is one of the UK’s fastest growing consumer specialist publisher. Formed in May 2005, it now publishes 20 magazines and 15 websites in the videogames, computing and photography markets. An Imagine magazine is purchased every ten seconds.
