New Editor appointed for X360
Imagine Publishing welcomes new Editor to run the UK’s best-selling
independent Xbox 360 magazine

The UK’s number one bestselling unofficial Xbox
360 magazine has this month gained the editorial
expertise of Russell Barnes, an industry journalist of
more than ten years’ experience. Barnes has made
the move to Imagine after enjoying five years as
a successful freelance computer and videogames
journalist for the consumer and trade press for the
likes of Dennis, Future Publishing and Intent Media.
“I couldn’t be happier with my appointment as Editor
of X360 and I’m looking forward to expanding the
lead the magazine boasts over its nearest unofficial
rivals,” said Russell Barnes. “Imagine has assembled
an incredible team and I’m honoured to be working
among some of the best talent in the specialist
press.”
Barnes will continue to develop X360 as the market moves into the lucrative holiday
season for which Microsoft’s console promises one of the biggest Christmas software lineups
in gaming history, including Halo 3 and Project Gotham Racing 4.
Editor in Chief at Imagine, Simon Phillips had this to say about the company’s latest
appointment: “After an extensive search to find the perfect candidate, we’re delighted
to welcome Russell on board. Imagine is committed to recruiting only the most talented
people and we’re lucky to have secured such an experienced pair of hands for one of our
most important videogames titles.”
Imagine Publishing is one of the UK’s fastest growing consumer specialist publishers. Formed
in May 2005, it now publishes 20 magazines and 20 websites in the videogames, computing,
Entertainment and photography markets. An Imagine magazine is purchased every ten seconds.
