4th September 2007 games™ and 360 ‘Hail to the Chief’ with exclusive Halo 3 issues Imagine Publishing and Microsoft join forces for exclusive cover and themed belly-band for games™ and entire ‘Halo invasion’ issue of 360
Hitting the shelves today is issue 61 of games™ which features an exclusive Halo 3-themed belly-band and specially created high quality cover to champion the launch of Halo 3, one of the most anticipated games of the year on Xbox 360. This innovative and eye-catching promotion wraps around the spine and both covers of the magazine and leads readers directly to the in-depth Halo feature inside.
This issue of games™ includes an extensive 12-page feature looking at the past, present and future of the acclaimed Halo series, and also boasts an exclusive development profile on the latest instalment of the Halo franchise, including interviews with the Bungie development team.
“To be involved with the launch of such an important game is a great opportunity for the magazine,” commented Editor, Rick Porter. “The combination of spectacular artwork and the belly-band treatment has certainly created one of the most memorable and beautiful games™ covers to date.”
Issue 27 of 360, Imagine’s mature Xbox 360 magazine, has also not been spared the Halo treatment. In a world first for a videogames magazine, and a major promotion co-ordinated with Microsoft UK, almost every page of the October issue has been invaded by the design and influence of the enemy Halo force, the Covenant. The game’s hero, Master Chief, guides 360 readers through the infestation.
“Here at Imagine we are proud that we work with our clients to offer innovative cost effective creative solutions for their premium brands. Working closely with Microsoft we agreed that using a belly-band across the cover of games™ not only achieves stand-out on the newsstand, but also provides the readers with a high impact information solution for Halo 3,” commented Imagine’s Advertising Director, Scott Caisley.
