11th April 2006 X360 magazine secures UK market
leadership in its debut ABC Imagine’s brand new independent Xbox 360 games magazine proves
it’s the UK’s number one with impressive first audited sales figures.
Despite only still being in its infancy, X360 from Imagine has just posted its first ABC of
27,525 (July-Dec05); making it the market leading unofficial Xbox magazine in the UK. Its
mixture of exclusive preview coverage, honest reviews, and a popular Community section
has helped elevate it above its competitors, including Xbox World 360, which posted an
ABC of 19,048, giving X360 a clear lead of over 8,000 copies.
The fact that the magazine is written by the very people it is aimed at – gamers who love
the Xbox 360 and play all types of games – helps bolster the magazine’s credibility, while
the inclusion of high-quality free gifts, such as 360 Vision (a packed DVD full of exclusive
footage of the latest games, opinion direct from the team and features not available
anywhere else) makes it the most attractive package on the shelves today.
Editor of X360, Martin Mathers commented:
“The success of the X360 is testament to the massive amount of commitment poured
into it every month, not just by the games publishers that support us, but also the team
– they’re always the first ones here in the morning and the last to leave at night...”
“I’m delighted that X360 is the number one independent Xbox 360 magazine, although it’s
not overly surprising given the hard work, unrivaled enthusiasm and deep knowledge that
goes into each issue,” said Ryan King, Community Editor.
The last word is given to X360’s Keith Hennessey: “I think the mag has achieved such
success because of its varied and exclusive content, a team dedicated to going that extra
mile and, above all unbridled enthusiasm for the subject matter. We’re thrilled that Imagine
is committed to letting us upholding those core ideals – those who think game magazine
journalism is dead clearly haven’t read X360…”
